Why should I get this?

Your little one points at everything and wants to know what it's called. But sitting down to read flash cards over and over gets old fast, for both of you.

TalkyDino Talking Flash Cards turn word practice into a game. Kids place the small dinosaur over a picture and it says the word out loud from the speaker in its belly. The set comes with 148 cards and 592 words across 5 categories, plus 6 sticker sheets for things around your home, so the learning doesn't stop at the table.

Use it at the kitchen table, on the couch or on a word hunt through the house. Kids get to explore on their own, and you get to hear them say new words.

Learning new words, one dino tap at a time

Tap a picture, hear the word

Instead of waiting for a grown-up to read each card, kids hold the dino over a picture and hear the word right away. They can go at their own pace, repeat a word as often as they like and keep going on their own.

The cards cover letters, words and short sentences, grouped on rings so you can pick a lesson. The dino has volume up and down buttons, recharges with a USB-C cable and turns itself off after a few minutes of no use. As one buyer put it: "It tells you the letter and what the pictures are when you place it over the picture."

Turn your whole house into a lesson

Stick the included stickers on things around your home, like the sofa, fridge or table, and kids can walk around touching the dino to each one. Reviewers say you can record your own voice too, for things like grandparents' and siblings' names.

The result is a learning toy kids actually reach for, and a simple, screen-free way to practice words together every day. One buyer said: "we search the house for the sticker an the flash cards."
